ABOUT NORTHWOOD
Northwood Diagnostic Imaging Service is an established patient focused diagnostic ultrasound imaging service based at Dr FG Mhlanga’s surgery at 130 Herbert Chitepo Avenue, Harare.

Our team has extensive experience in providing ultrasound imaging services in the UK and is dedicated to providing and maintaining the highest quality patient care. We are one of a very small number of ultrasound providers in Harare offering Transvaginal scanning.

We are registered with the Allied Health Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (AHPCZ). AHPCZ is mandated to assist in the promotion of the health of the population of Zimbabwe through regulating, controlling, supervising all matters affecting training, registration, practice and enforcing ethics and discipline amongst allied health practitioners.

Grace Pettican, our Head Diagnostic Ultrasonographer, holds the following professional qualifications:

Post Graduate Diploma in Ultrasound (GDU) (City University London - East Anglian College of Radiography, UK)

The Diploma of the College of Radiographers DCR(R) London (Mpilo Central Hospital School of Radiography, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe)

Certificate of Achievement Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (University of Cumbria, UK)

Diploma in Management Studies (University of Surrey and International Management Centre, Buckingham, UK)

As well as being a registered practitioner in Zimbabwe, Grace is also a member of the Society of Radiographers (London) and the British Medical Ultrasound Society.

Grace is UK trained dedicated professional with over 30 years’ experience as a Diagnostic Ultrasonographer and Manager of Diagnostic Ultrasound services at Colchester Hospital University Foundation NHS Trust, one of the largest hospitals in Essex, UK.
